Herringbone

Hi
welcome to another Christmas card post

I used a new technique today called herringbone
I cut strips of Christmas patterned paper and arranged them in this formation
I die cut the circle, stamped the sentiment and tried again with heat embossing (previous attempts didn't go too well) this time it did come out ok (not so well in the photo) everything got very hot though!
I punched the raindeer and glued them around the circle

challenge 209 use your old stash
The patterned paper I used is a pad I bought when I was very new to card making and I haven't used them much as they are too small to use as backgrounds.  An early mistake learnt.  However this technique works well with them

Beetle

Hello again

It's raining here after weeks of sun.  My ducks carry on as normal and the chickens hide under cover.
We did need some rain to make the grass grow and fill the water butts so no complaints from me.

I got a new die and stamp set that I had to try out

I die cut the car, grass and clouds
I ran the car die through my machine again with some acetate which I had kept from some packaging so I could add some windows
I stamped the little man head in the drivers side and stamped the sentiment
I mounted the scene onto white card and stamped the tyre mark as a frame

Flying Reindeer

Hi everyone

It's a Christmas card today

Do you feel Christmassy yet?
no? oh!

Anyway, my card is made using landscape die cuts
The moon is a circle die cut from ombre card yellow to blue cut right in the middle
The deer were from my reindeer punch that I got after last Christmas in the sales,  (do you remember going into shops?) I coloured them brown, added darker brown antlers and tails, black hooves and noses and white dots and tummies
the sentiment is die cut

Showers and Flowers (and Wellies)

Hello again

I have made a springy and flowery card today

I used the Double D mood board for this, there is a picture of flowers in some wellies.  I was definetly going to use that
I stamped and coloured the wellies, they were spotty anyway so I dotted them with nuvo drops
I used my die cut flowers which I make in bulk that so I have them ready for when I have a flower needing moment and die cut them some stems
I added the blue background and sentiment
I wanted to add more so I die cut some clouds, grass, tulips and butterflies and finished it off

Bright and Balloony

Hello

I have taken a liking to making bright and cheerful cards at the moment

I used the sketch from Tuesday morning sketches and the mood board from Hand stamped sentiments which is very bright and balloony
I randomly arranged the die cut balloons and put some of them on sticky foam pads for some 3D action

Here is a close up of the 3D balloons

The banner die cutter automatically cuts out stars so I recut the banner to get some stars in different colours and scattered the extra ones around the balloons

Seals in the Sea

Hi Everyone
It's nice to see you again

I have made a card today with seals in the sea

The background is from my ombre paper pad, it's blue into white and it makes a really nice sea
I stamped the seals, they are supposed to hold a paint brush but I removed it as I don't think it was needed
The white waves I drew on with a white gel pen which I got included with my pack of alcohol ink markers.  I have found it really useful as it draws white on any colour.  I even use it to erase colours when my colouring goes over the line
The sentiment I cut from pale yellow card I did add yellow sparkles but it doesn't show in the photo

Kite

Happy Easter

I have made a kite card today

I used the sketch from Tuesday morning sketches and squeezed the center square into a kite shape (I hope that is allowed!!)
I drew on the kites frame using Dovecraft 3D pearl effects
The clouds are die cut and I just arranged them randomly
The twine is actually from 'elves behaving badly' (the Christmas naughty elf) but I found that the elves didn't use it so I took it for my card making

Dots and Stripes

Happy Easter to all

I have made a lovely bright and colourful card today

I made this to the sketch by the Sunday Stamps challenge
I put stripes at the top using washi tape in a sort of ombre/rainbow arrangement
At the bottom I put embossed dots (actually snow but it does just as well as dots)
I added one stripe of spotty washi tape and die cut the sentiment in black so it shows up well

Pony Die Cutter

Hello and Happy Good Friday

Today I have made a pony die cut card

I made him using colours from CAS colours and sketches challenge.
I made his mane using the tail die so I could make it stripy, it's come out looking very thick and he looks like a my little pony.  This is a perfect Birthday card for a little girl.

Zoo Animals

Hello again

I have made a card which is sort of a collage of a zoo

Little red wagon challenge is to 'mix 'em up' or use stamps, dies etc. from different sets together.  I do that anyway but I really went to town with this one.  I used -
dies -
tatterd lace giraffe
unbranded elephant
landscape set trees
sizzex rectangles
The patterned paper with toucan was from 'love to craft' paper pad' paradise blooms'
Stamps -
Hunkydory safari set zebra, lion and sentiment
Hunkydory weather set for the sun
Forever friends easter set for the butterflies

Bunting Die Cutter

Hello
Welcome to my blog

I have made a bright, colourful card covered with bunting

I used a 3 way fold card which has a rectangle cut out at the front
I die cut the bunting and stuck them across it so they hang in mid air
The die cutter has stars which are cut out of each flag so I mixed them up and glued them on the middle page which is behind the bunting giving it a 3D impression
I didn't add a sentiment as I felt the card was so busy a 'Happy Birthday' would have looked silly, maybe a big die cut one would have worked but I don't have one, what do you think?

I am linking this card with colour throwdown -#588 -orange,green, pink and yellow
