It's time for a new Sparkles Monthly challenge
the new theme today is
'A Shaker Card'
here is my take
I had made the background a while ago and not used it so I cut out the glass on my cricut and filled it with gems and sequins
If you've never made a shaker card before then give it a go it is not very complicated and if you have nesting dies it is quite easy
you will need a set of nesting dies in a shape of your choice, regular card, craft foam, a piece of acetate or some flat, clear plastic packaging and something to fill it e.g. sequins, confetti, small die cuts or punches etc.
step 1
choose your biggest shape and die cut it in card
step 2
go down two sizes from your nest set and cut out the centre
this is your top piece
step 3
cut your biggest shape again in craft foam
step 4
go down one size from your nest set and cut out the centre
this is your bottom piece
step 5
cut your biggest shape in the acetate (use scissors if you don't want to die cut it)
this is your centre piece
assemble
glue the foam piece to a card blank (or whatever you're using as the base)
put your filling in the gap
glue your acetate on top (don't get glue on the filling pieces)
and on top of this glue down the top piece
and that is your shaker
decorate it as you like
so make your own and join in with the challenge at Sparkles Monthly
see you there
