Spiders!!

Today is the new Sparkles monthly challenge 

the new theme is

'things that go bump in the night'

here is my take

I have made a set of ATCs in a spooky spider theme

the background I made using distress oxide spray

and the sentiment is stamped

the spiders and web are die cut

 the bats are stamped and die cut

I drew a border with black glitter glue

and added some stickers

Anything Alice

here is my take

The Cheshire cat is a favourite of mine so I copied a picture of him onto a card blank, coloured him in and added a stamped sentiment

Tropical Beach

The new Sparkles Monthly challenge starts today

'Tropical and or beach' 

here is my take

The palm trees and birds are stamped and die cut

the background was made by rubbing blue distress ink onto a gelli plate and pressing half of the card blank onto it and then repeating with the yellow on the other half

Then everything was arranged and I stamped a sentiment

Christmas Sprouts

 This was designed and cut using my cricut machine

the background clouds are stencilled using a home made stencil and distress ink

Knitting Birthday

Today is the 15th and the start of the new Sparkles Monthly challenge

the new theme is

'embossing'

here is my take

I used an embossing folder for the knitted side 

The balls of wool are stamped in bright colours

I tried to match the sentiment to the purple colour as it joined to the knitted side

Apple Trees

The new Sparkles Monthly challenge starts today

the new theme is

'Men' 

here is my take

I made this card for my brother who has just planted some apple trees 

The trees are die cut from green card and I inked the trunk and branches with brown copic leaving the green leaves

The background is distress ink simply applied as grass and sky

I glued the trees down and added the apples using nuvo drops 

I made two tone apples by putting down the green drop and adding a red drop directly to it

and finished by adding the trees shadows and some fallen fruit

Friendship

It's the first Sparkles Monthly Challenge of 2023!!

here is my take

I have this lovely sentiment stamp which I stamped onto an ATC and made the rainbow background with distress inks

Then I decided that it would look nice as a card so I made it a background from shiny purple and a sunburst type die

It needed something else so I added the black border with 3d enamel effect

Owl

Today is a Sparkles Monthly day

here is my take

 

I designed and made my owl scene with my cricut and is simply layers of different coloured card

I also made the background paper using stamps and different coloured inks, although most of it ended up being covered up! so I prettied up the envelope with some offcuts

Meowy Christmas

Today is the start of the new Winter Wonderland challenge

the image I got to play with is Meowy Christmas

here is my take

 I printed and coloured the image and die cut it with an oval die and I used a bigger die for the red frame

Finding the background was hard as I didn't have anything I liked until I found this snowflake tissue paper.  I wasn't sure if you could just glue down tissue paper but I tried it anyway and it worked fine

Beachy

 Today is the new Sparkles Monthly Challenge

here is my take

This is a set of inchies (1 inch square) which I made for a swap on Facebook

They are mostly stamped images which I coloured and added 3d enamel effect

The fish is cut out and glued to a background which I made and hand drew the seaweed

The ice cream is washi tape with a patterned paper background and a shell sticker

and the beach ball is a sticker on another of my home made backgrounds

Black, white and red

 Today is a new Cardz 4 Galz challenge

the new theme is

'black, white and one other colour'

here is my take

I have used red as my other colour

The lower pattern I made directly on the card blank and randomly stamped the hearts and stars in red and dots in black

I stamped and coloured the lady birds at the top with a tiny sentiment

I would have used washi tape to divide the top from the bottom but I didn't have any in red so I used a strip of red card which actually works just as well
