Spiders!!

Today is the new Sparkles monthly challenge 

the new theme is

'things that go bump in the night'

here is my take

I have made a set of ATCs in a spooky spider theme

the background I made using distress oxide spray

and the sentiment is stamped

the spiders and web are die cut

 the bats are stamped and die cut

I drew a border with black glitter glue

and added some stickers

Anything Alice

The Cheshire cat is a favourite of mine so I copied a picture of him onto a card blank, coloured him in and added a stamped sentiment

Tropical Beach

The new Sparkles Monthly challenge starts today

'Tropical and or beach' 

here is my take

The palm trees and birds are stamped and die cut

the background was made by rubbing blue distress ink onto a gelli plate and pressing half of the card blank onto it and then repeating with the yellow on the other half

Then everything was arranged and I stamped a sentiment

Christmas Sprouts

Knitting Birthday

Today is the 15th and the start of the new Sparkles Monthly challenge

'embossing'

here is my take

I used an embossing folder for the knitted side 

The balls of wool are stamped in bright colours

I tried to match the sentiment to the purple colour as it joined to the knitted side

Apple Trees

The new Sparkles Monthly challenge starts today

the new theme is

'Men' 

here is my take

I made this card for my brother who has just planted some apple trees 

The trees are die cut from green card and I inked the trunk and branches with brown copic leaving the green leaves

The background is distress ink simply applied as grass and sky

I glued the trees down and added the apples using nuvo drops 

I made two tone apples by putting down the green drop and adding a red drop directly to it

and finished by adding the trees shadows and some fallen fruit

Owl

Today is a Sparkles Monthly day

the new theme is

'owls'

here is my take

 

I designed and made my owl scene with my cricut and is simply layers of different coloured card

I also made the background paper using stamps and different coloured inks, although most of it ended up being covered up! so I prettied up the envelope with some offcuts

The sentiment was in my stash

Beachy

 Today is the new Sparkles Monthly Challenge

the new theme is

'on the beach'

here is my take

This is a set of inchies (1 inch square) which I made for a swap on Facebook

They are mostly stamped images which I coloured and added 3d enamel effect

The fish is cut out and glued to a background which I made and hand drew the seaweed

The ice cream is washi tape with a patterned paper background and a shell sticker

and the beach ball is a sticker on another of my home made backgrounds

Snow globe Shaker

It's time for a new Sparkles Monthly challenge

the new theme is

'shaker card'

here is my take

 

I made a snow globe

I gave instructions for making a shaker card using a die cutter and nesting dies on a previous post here

This one was designed on cricut design space and cut out using my cricut 

I included an extra separate circle with the sentiment drawn onto it so I could include some stamping

I used sequins as I have found that they move well in a shaker

Dad Monsters

It's the 15th and that means a new Sparkles Monthly starts

the new theme is

'things with wings'

I have combined the wings with my fathers day card

 

I stamped the little monsters from my 'make a monster' stamp set where you have separate bodies, eyes, mouths and other accessories including wings which you can combine in any way you want

These were coloured and die cut 

The background is one I made myself using shaving foam!

I added some more colour by stamping eyes, from the same set, in yellow around the monsters and over the sentiment

Animal Print

 I wasn't sure about what to do so I printed various patterns out and arranged them on a card blank until I liked it and glued them down

Butterflies

I have used twine 

 I made the butterflies and leaf with a new layering die I found in the sales

Vintage

It's time for a new Sparkles Monthly Challenge

the new theme is 

Vintage Christmas/Vintage occasion

here is my take

 Vintage is NOT my thing but I did remember getting a set of stamps in a bundle which were Vintage-y

so I stamped the tree in green distress ink (to give it a Vintage-y feel) and it came out nice so I stamped another and heat embossed it

I added a gold glitter border and big red baubles

I also had some stickers (from another bundle - I love bundles) which were 'traditional Christmas' so decorated the rest of the card with them

make it small

Today is a new Sparkles Monthly challenge

the theme this time is

'make it small'

Any of these suggestions -

 Inchies/Twinchies/ATCs, Bookmark, Gift card Holder, Postcard, Fat Page, Card less than 4"sq.,  earrings,  Gift Tags, whatever, as long as it is SMALL

I found ATCs (artist trading cards which are 3.5" by 2.5") early this year, they are different from greeting cards in that you make them to swap with others and it is quite addictive especially as once you have made and swapped ATCs you find yourself making ATCoins (2.5" round), twinchies (2" square) and the tiny inchies (1" square)

You can find groups on Facebook which organise monthly swaps and you can also have your own album for swapping

so for this challenge I have made a Christmas ATC

The Santa is stamped, coloured and cut out, the stocking is die cut which I was given in a swap and I added a twine loop

I 'made' the Christmas lights with 3D enamel effect in various colours
